You were recommended to me and I asked you to be an appraiser (for an estate). I found your appraisal to be very thorough and exact. Many of the items were thereafter sold at auction, and you will be pleased to know that the items appraised by you brought approximately the same price that you appraised the same. I appreciate your most competent and thorough work provided for the estate. ------------------------------------------- /s/ Howard H. Harcha, Jr., Harcha & Book, LLC, Portsmouth, OH

The Southern Ohio Museum has used Mr. Johnson for appraisals on several different occasions. He always provides us with great information about the pices in question and printouts for our customers if the items are for sale. He provides an in-depth critique of the piece and is very thorough. We will definitely use Mr. Johnson again in the future. /s/ Tricia Holbrook, Administrative Assistant, Southern Ohio Museum, Portsmouth, Ohio

Many thanks goes out to Mr. Paul Johnson. I was very satisfied with my appraisal that I had to present to the USPS for approval of an insurance claim and was impressed with the thorough, high quality professional manner in which it was carried out. /s/ Gail Valentine of Portsmouth, OH
| Store FeedbackTHUMBS UP TO NEW BUSINESS - Kudos must go to Paul Johnson for helping to make his community a little better. Johnson returned to Portsmouth after living in San Francisco since 1975 and is renovating a Chillicothe Street building to its original form. Once renovated, Johnson plans to open The Emporium at Portsmouth at 607 Chillicothe Street. The building was built in 1899, and Johnson is trying to restore it as close as possible to its original shape. Through the years, the building has housed the Portsmouth Dry Goods Company, Sears Roebuck & Co., Ehrman Household Appliances and Stapleton Office Supplies. The Daily Times wishes Johnson well and congratulates him on his effort. Let's hope The Emporium at Portsmouth is the first of many new businesses to open in the city. ---------------------------------------------/s/ Editorial, Portsmouth Daily Times, June 22, 2002.

"We've been in a lot of Antiques Shops and this one really tops the list. You'll find The Emporium at Portsmouth in the Downtown District next to Williams Restaurant (the best fine dining destination in town). Interesting to note that The Emporium is located in the building that housed the first Sears store in the state of Ohio. You'll likely be greeted by proprietor Kevin Johnson, a most friendly and knowledgeable host. The shop is 2 floors of nicely displayed antiques and collectibles, and everything in the store is in pristine condition. I know, part of the fun of antiquing is weeding through the 'junk' to find the treasure. At The Emporium, it's one fine piece after another. They say the biggest mistake an antiquer can make is to go out looking for a specific item, and I made this one on my recent daytrip to Portsmouth. I was looking for an end table of a certain heighth and width. I found it at The Emporium and a few other things as well. My friend Steve bought all of their Bob Dylan albums (yes, LP's), all in perfect condition. Items at The Emporium are very fairly priced. If you're used to doing your antiquing in the city (Cincinnati), I'm sure that you'll be pleasantly surprised with the deal you'll get in Portsmouth. When you Daytrip to Portsmouth, don't miss The Emporium at Portsmouth." Courtesy of Daytrip Cincinnati, http://www.daytripcincinnati.com/, July 27, 2006.

TO: Portsmouth Area Convention and Visitors Bureau - Thank you so much for the help you gave me in planning the tour of the Flood Wall. At your recommendation we went to The Emporium at Portsmouth and it was also a good choice for our Senior group. Many interesting things to see and purchase. The owner gave us an interesting history of his building and made the group feel welcome. A good time was had by all!!----- /s/ Margaret Craig, Secretary, On The Go Seniors of Brookville, OH

On behalf of the City of Portsmouth and the Boneyfiddle Historic Preservation Society, I wish to thank you for hosting the wine & cheese break during the tour of downtown Portsmouth on June 22. Our visitors from Downtown Ohio, Inc. were very impressed with The Emporium at Portsmouth! We wanted them to see a perfect example of what we wish the rest of the properties to achieve. Again, thank you for helping us showcase Portsmouth. We do appreciate your efforts in making our city a great place to live.--------------------- /s/ Jennifer Hanlon, Director of Community Development, City of Portsmouth
| Website Purchase FeedbackThank you for the speedy shipment of my flower frog (Cambridge Bashful Charlotte and matching bowl). The fact that you wrapped and boxed the frog and bowl separately was an added security I'm glad you used. Even though the item was insured, cost is not always what is irreplaceable when purchasing a piece (such) as this. Thank you so much. /s/ Elaine T. of Kellogg, IA
